My name is Samuel McCarty, and I’m running for Minnehaha County Auditor because I believe our county deserves a conservative, steady, and trustworthy steward of its elections and its finances.
I was born and raised in Northwest Iowa and always enjoyed South Dakota. I have been a resident of Minnehaha County since 2023, and this community is my home. It is where my life, family and friends are. Like many of you, I value honesty, hard work, and doing what’s right, even when no one is watching.
In my professional life, I am a Land Survey Crew Chief, where accuracy, accountability, and meeting responsibilities are not optional, they were expected and required. These experiences have taught me the importance of being precise and accurate, efficient, trustworthy and being accountable for every decision made.
I’m running on a simple principle: government should be honest, accountable, and fair. The Auditor’s office is not about politics: it’s about integrity. It’s about handling elections properly, managing taxpayer funds responsibly, and serving the public with professionalism and respect.
As a conservative, I believe in limited, responsible government and careful stewardship of taxpayer dollars. Taxpayers work hard for their money, and they deserve full transparency and confidence that those funds are being managed ethically and efficiently.
Election integrity is equally important. Every voter, regardless of party, deserves confidence that elections in Minnehaha County are secure, accurate, and fair. As County Auditor, I will maintain clear procedures, and ensure every legal vote is counted accurately. There should be no shortcuts, no confusion, and no lack of transparency when it comes to our elections.
I am committed to serving with honor and fairness. The County Auditor works for the people, not for personal interests or political agendas. My goal is to be a calm, reliable, and principled leader who earns trust through consistent, ethical actions.
Transparency will guide my work. I believe in clear financial reporting, open communication, and being accessible to the public. Trust in government isn’t demanded, it’s earned, and I intend to earn it.
I am running to be a safe, conservative, and dependable option for the people of Minnehaha County. Someone you can trust to protect the integrity of your vote, respect your tax dollars, and serve with honesty.
I look forward to your support in this election and continued support in becoming your next auditor.
Thank you.
